Better Than Par | Titleist Performance Institute (TPI)

tpi-image2Mountain River leads the way in golf-fitness in WV with the Better Than Par TPI program!

What is the Better Than Par Titleist Performance Institute (TPI)?

Since its inception in 2003, TPI has studied thousands of golfers ranging from the top professional tour players to weekend enthusiasts. TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible. Additionally, TPI has analyzed how physical limitations in a player’s body can adversely affect the golf swing and potentially lead to injury.

TPI believes the most efficient swing is not the same for every golfer, because efficiency is unique to their body. To achieve an efficient swing, a golfer must first be screened. This screen involves an assessment of swing mechanics and biomechanics, physical fitness, movement quality, current health, and a client history. The plan includes specific exercises, physical therapy, and coaching of swing mechanics.

tpi-certifiedThe Benefits of TPI

  • Improved mobility and increase joint range of motion
  • Core stability and improved balance
  • Reduced risk of injury
  • Increase longevity of your golf game
  • Increase power and maximize performance
  • Improve golf posture

K-vest is a tool that can be utilized for screening, monitoring, and delivery customized exercise programs. The K-vest uses wireless Bluetooth sensor technology to accurately analyze the 3D motion of a golf swing. The sensors provide feedback to measure swing efficiency and proper body sequencing during the swing.

TPI Evaluation – $150

The TPI Evaluation will consist of a 16 point screening to determine the golfer’s range of motion, strength, flexibility, stability, posture, and balance. In addition, an assessment with the K-vest 3D analysis will be performed and video analysis using Dartfish software.

tpi-certified2The TPI physical screen will isolate any physical limitations and correlate these findings to your swing characteristics. With these findings, the TPI certified medical professional will develop a customized exercise program that focuses on correcting any imbalances that may be affecting your swing efficiency. You will receive the program via email including instructional videos on each exercise.

*Follow-up programs are available for additional fitness instruction, swing analysis by a PGA Golf Professional, and re-evaluation to determine level of improvement.
